"You can only make progress by fighting for progress."

Local union 529 is one of hundreds of locals chartered by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers which is headquartered in Washington, DC. The IBEW is divided into eleven disricts covering Canada and the United States. The District 1 office, represents all of Canada and is located in Mississauga, ON under the guidance of International Vice President Bill Daniels.

Our local union, chartered in 1947 by eleven founding members, is located in Saskatoon, SK and covers the geographical area north of the 51st paralell within the province of Saskatchewan.

We are currently a local of 424 members primarily involved in the construction, installation and maintenance of industrial electrical systems and to a lesser extent commercial. We have built co-gens, heavy oil upgraders, pulp and paper mills, OSB plants, potash and uranium mines and mills.

We bargain and work hand in hand with our sister local in Regina, SK. Local 2038's geographical region is south of the 51st parallel.
